Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. (Jn. 3:5)
In his song, “Brand New World,” Dr. Munroe identified that a brand new world comes from a brand new people, life, and spirit, which all begin with Jesus Christ. Jesus said no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless they are born of the Spirit (John 3:5). The type of change that the world needs requires a change of spirit for a change of mindset.
In chapter 12 of The Principles & Benefits of Change, Dr. Munroe identified the mindset required for a change agent. This first essential item listed is seeking knowledge, understanding, and the application of wisdom (Munroe, 2009, p. 144). One step in this process is being open to listening to God’s Holy Spirit, who reveals the seasons—having understanding about situations to know what to do in the midst of them (pp. 144-145).
Adults, particularly parents and family leaders, have a great impact on the destiny of their children. What roles of influence do adult women hold that directly impact young people and could change their lives for better or worst? Consider these roles and the potential problems/opportunities that could arise if an attitude of faithlessness/faithfulness is present. Faith comes from knowledge of what God says, but women in places of influence must first be interested in seeking this knowledge. Then they would understand the precepts they should be sharing and that it is His purpose for them to share it to build faith in the next generation.
Recommended Practical Activity:
Historically, women have been overlooked in leadership positions in careers, churches, and families. What obstacles to faith in their leadership potential do women have that they need God’s help in overcoming? Identify these areas that require a change in your life, and submit them in prayer for God’s guidance in interpreting how to move forward.
