What & Who Influences Your Worldview

Psalm 1:1-2 captures the concept of worldview in the positions of sit, stand, and walk. Each of us has a worldview--a lifestyle, posture, and way we assess things. Our worldview is influenced by our counselors and guides. Those individuals who influence our minds determine our worldview. Those who are influenced by the Lord are righteous. Study Ps. 1:1-2 below and review the following points:

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. (Ps. 1:1-2)

  • Verses one and two of Psalm 1 show where we were and where we moved to. Many believers do not see themselves as being righteous in the eyes of God, and many do not recognize the components that are deeply imbedded into their very being.
  • The rulership of the Holy Spirit and the daily guidance by the Word are key factors.
  • Consider the ending of verse 3: “And whatsoever, he doeth shall prosper.” This confidence that God has in us is foreign to many believers, and this should be implanted into the heart as early as possible.

As we see in verse 2, the Psalmist longs for the lordship of God to be the state of his being and for the Kingdom of God to be in Him. There are two types of law 1)The law written on the inside of a person (special revelation)  2) The Written law. The need for faithful Bible investigation (FBI) is that the written law is written in another language, time period, and culture. We have to conduct careful research to understand Scripture from the King's perspective and not from a worldly view (secular worldview).
