Though official estimates are still not confirmed, the Government of the Bahamas estimated that the combined loss to the country from Hurricane Matthew and Joaquin could be some $800 million. Many residents in New Providence and The Family Islands lost their homes and vehicles and/or experienced damage to their properties. Some Bahamians remain without access to electricity, water, and communication services. Businesses and community organizations have also been impacted.
As Kingdom citizens and brothers and sisters in the family of God, we give thanks to our God for His faithfulness in all seasons and can rely on His love and power to make us more than conquerors. The Kingdom of God has no lack. Throughout our country, stories of heroism, charity, and brotherly kindness are abundant in the wake of this natural disaster. Prayer and community support must be our ongoing commitment to The Bahamas and other regions that have been affected by Hurricane Matthew.
Bahamas Faith Ministries has decided to establish a Hurricane Relief Fund to assist our brothers and sisters in the rebuilding process. If you would like to support the hurricane relief effort through a financial donation, you can give online at the BFM’s website. Please follow the instructions below to give online.
