Righteous & Ready
It's back-to-school time for students around the globe! Getting ready for this time of year can mean scheduling health check-ups, completing registration processes, getting school supplies, and attending student and teacher orientation meetings. However, in the midst of all these important deadlines and events, educational leaders, students, and parents alike should also consider setting time aside for special personal preparation for the upcoming school season.
A key study focus for the FBI community is The Seven Steps of the Righteous Person, and the first step focuses on the Profile & Power of the Righteous Person. Step 1 helps the believer to answer the question, "Who am I?" Since the Kingdom citizen's identity is defined by the righteousness of Jesus Christ, our preparation processes for the changing seasons of life are guided by the Holy Spirit, our Counselor. Jesus told His disciples: "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever--the Spirit of truth" (Jn. 14:16-17).
Therefore, if you are a parent, teacher, or adult student, amidst all the busyness of the back-to-school season, take time to prayerfully consider the Lord's direction for your life and for your family members that are headed back to the classroom. The Holy Spirit can give you wisdom for all you need to accomplish, as a part of your Kingdom benefits promised in Scripture. To help younger students prepare for the year, consider using 20 Back-to-School Truths, an online resource by JellyTelly. This tool is provided to help students have a righteous mindset and self-worth, supporting the development of their identity in Christ.
You can read this resource at the JellyTelly website here or download their free printable here. With the printable, you can cut out cards to use as notes for your child's school bag or stick them up somewhere visible at home for your child or the whole family to see these truths daily before school.
Kingdom blessings to you this school year as you allow the Holy Spirit to help you get ready with a righteous outlook.
