Of the men who went to explore the land, only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh survived. (Num 14:38)

Did you ever listen to God's speech about why some of the Israelites missed the Promise Land? Listening carefully to this speech can give you insight into why people miss God's vision for their lives.

Listen to what God said to Moses:

  • How long will these people treat me with contempt? (Num. 14:11).
  • How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the signs I have performed among them? (Num. 14:11).
  • Not one of those who saw my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times— not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors (Num. 14:23).
  • No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it. (Num. 14:23)

God had a vision for all of the Israelites, but some of them wanted to give up and not pursue it. They are the ones that actually decided that they were not going into the Promised Land. What's the problem? He had a plan for all of them, but some of them did not have faith in Him to fulfill His covenant through them. God has a vision for everyone on the planet, men and women. To His disciples, those who set themselves apart to seek and follow Him, Jesus said: “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32). Yet the Bible shows that not all will see or inherit the Kingdom (John 3:3-6; 1 Cor. 6:9-10).

Do you want your inheritance? Do you want this Kingdom prepared for you before the creation of the world? Then begin to follow the wisdom of Jesus as written in the Bible, and partner with those individuals who believe in putting it into practice.

Recommended Practical Activity:

Benefits of Change 2In chapter 12 of The Principles & Benefits of Change, Dr. Munroe identified the mindset required for a change agent. This first essential item listed is seeking knowledge, understanding, and the application of wisdom (Munroe, 2009, p. 144).

Sharing accounts of God’s goodness builds faith. What obstacles to your faith did God help you overcome as an adult that could be shared as wisdom principles to a young person to help them be an agent of change in their generation now? Identify at least one account, and think of a young person that could benefit from hearing your testimony or receiving your assistance in this area.
