Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. (Jn. 15:13)
Change is happening all around the world in every sector of leadership, including the world of politics, religion, sports, entertainment, and so on. In the book, The Principles & Benefits of Change, Dr. Munroe stated, “Not all change is improvement.” However, what position did Jesus take (John 3:17)? And what did He lead His disciples to do (Matt. 28:16-20)? What did all of the heroes of the faith, who are recorded in the Book of Hebrews do (Heb. 11:4-38)?
Think about all the change that is happening to you, around you, and within you. Jesus cares. When we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Rom. 5:8). The power to make things happen resides in the One who brought the greatest loving change to this planet. Jesus stated in one of His farewell messages before His death: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (John 15:13).
Why did Jesus have to die to bring this change? Dr. Munroe sang it beautifully: “You can’t change a man from the outside, my friend. A brand new world begins within.”
Recommended Research Activity:
Women tend to care about so many things and carry burdens of change in their hearts for their family and friends. Read Isaiah 9:2 and Isaiah 9:6-7. The Bible prophesies that a king and a kingdom would come to bring change in the darkness. Jesus intended to bring salvation to all—Jews and Gentiles; men and women; young and old; rich and poor (Luke 1).
- What situations would you consider as being dark (moral or spiritual darkness) and you feel worried about them?
- According to Isaiah and Matthew where can we place our faith and expectation for change to happen?
Bring your worries to Jesus in prayer and expect Him to shed light on what changes He would like to see in these areas of your life.
